The Legacy Post-Purchase Referrals Widget

Encourage customers to refer friends and drive more sales to your store with the Loox Post-Purchase Referrals Widget. Displayed on the Thank you and Order status pages, this widget allows customers to easily share their unique referral link and earn rewards for successful referrals. 

This article is relevant to merchants who activated the Post-Purchase Referrals widget before February 1, 2025.

Activating the widget  

For merchants that activated the Post-Purchase Referrals widget before February 1, 2025, follow the steps below to turn the widget on or off. 

1. In the Post-Purchase Referrals Widget settings, go to “Activate widget.”
2. Toggle “Activate widget” on.

3. Click "Save".

The Post-Purchase Referrals Widget will now appear on your customers’ order confirmation page.

Widget customizations

Customize the text of the widget. Changes apply to both the legacy and the new checkout 

• Primary color: Adjust the color of the widget.
• Friend discount title: The first line of the widget shows the friend discount.
• Advocate reward title: The second line of the widget shows the advocate reward.
• Subtitle: Appears in bold below the discount/reward title.
• Body: Text that appears below the subtitle to explain how the discount works.
• Button: The call-to-action on the share button. Use the  [friend_discount] or [advocate_reward] placeholders to add the relevant discount amount.

Referrals emails

When a customer clicks the Post-Purchase Referrals Widget, they become an advocate and receive a unique discount link. This link is:

• Shown on the Order Status page immediately after purchase.
• Emailed to the advocate so they can retrieve and share it later.

The email content depends on the Post-Purchase incentive you select in your Referral Offer Settings. 

One-sided incentive

If you’re offering only a friend discount, the email will look like this:

If you’re offering a friend discount and an advocate reward, the email will look like this:

The email texts and banner can be customized through the Post-Purchase Referrals Widget email settings page.
